Safety glass is laminated with several panes held together by interlayers of PVB. Safety glass is classified according to the level of protection it offers. Anti-vandal and burglary glass protects against manual attacks and can withstand violent and repeated shocks: if broken the PVB keeps fragments together.
Bulletproof glass protects against firearms and is classified according to the number, thickness and assembly sequence of the glass plates and PVB binder sheets: these structures make them resistant to different types of projectile.

These panes are made with plates joined by PVB soundproofing and are classified according to the level of sound insulation, described by reduction ratios tested in the laboratory.
